Job Description
Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for a Full Stack Engineer to join the founding team of a next-generation infrastructure startup reimagining the insurance industry. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in early-stage environments, is energized by complex systems, and wants real ownership in a high-impact mission.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the company’s product and technical vision as a founding team member
- Partner closely with product, design, and growth teams to bring the MVP to life
- Build and maintain scalable APIs, data infrastructure, and full stack solutions
- Balance long-term architecture with hands-on iteration and fast deployment cycles
- Operate cross-functionally—contributing to product thinking, agile practices, and engineering excellence
- Independently own features and initiatives while navigating ambiguity with confidence
- Mentor and support future engineering hires as the team expands
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in full stack development using languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Node.js
- Strong architectural skills and experience with backend platforms, APIs, automation tools, and SaaS applications
- Proven ability to deliver 0-to-1 products and work in startup environments
- Deep familiarity with building high-quality APIs and improving developer experiences
- Entrepreneurial mindset—adaptable, hands-on, and eager to tackle complex problems
- Track record of leading major technical initiatives and cross-functional collaborations
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, global team with asynchronous workflows
Bonus Points
- Exposure to agentic systems, AI experimentation, RPA, or developer tools
- Experience with technologies like FastAPI, Django, Pydantic, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS S3
- A portfolio showcasing both backend systems and frontend applications
